More than 100 people, mostly school and university students, visited the UN House and learned firsthand about the work of the United Nations agencies and projects in Moldova.

    The Filmmakers’ camp, the first laboratory of ideas in the electoral field, was successfully completed. For two days, the participants, young filmmakers, learned from the team of Atelier “Sergiu Prodan PR & Advertising” and of the Central Electoral Commission, tricks and rules for making a motivational video on elections. The eight formed teams went home with many ideas, but also feeling their full responsibility.

    The International Labour Organization (ILO), a UN specialized agency with general competence in labour and social security and protection celebrates its 100 th anniversary in 2019. On this occasion, today, the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Trade Unions and Employer’s Organizations, in partnership with the ILO organized an international conference "Partnerships for a Changing World of Work". The event was attended by Markus Pilgrim, Director of the ILO Decent Work Team for Central and Eastern Europe, representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection (MHLSP), ILO Geneva, Confederation of Employers, Trade Unions, central and local public authorities, international experts, as well as representatives of the civil society.

The benches are produced with the support of the “Sustainable Green Cities” project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Chisinau City Hall is the main project partner.

    “Losing someone you love is traumatic. But when someone you love dies in pain, something dies in you.” These words belong to Olga Sinikovskaya, a retired woman from Tiraspol. Her husband died in 2017 from prostate cancer. Palliative care could have saved him from physical pain and emotional suffering. But in 2017 this type of service was missing on the left bank of the Nistru.

    A new group of women leaders from different regions of the Republic of Moldova met in Chisinau to participate, for three days, in the 2019 training session of ‘Women 4 Leadership’ Academy. Thus, 55 more women joined the group of women leaders who participated in a similar training organised this March. Together with the beneficiaries of the ‘Women 4 Leadership’ project of the previous year’s session, they establish and strengthen a platform for dialogue, training and action for women leaders from Moldova.
