    UN MOLDOVA JOINS THE CAMPAIGN “ORANGE THE WORLD: GENERATION EQUALITY STANDS AGAINST RAPE”

    This year in the frames of the international campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence”, the United Nations in Moldova organizes a series of the events aimed to end violence against women and girls. Organized during 25 November- 10 December, this year’s campaign is running under the message “Orange the world: Generation Equality Stands against Rape” and focuses on the rape culture that prevails in our society.

    The first Rights@Work4Youth Hackathon in Moldova generated innovative digital solutions to promote labour rights among young people

    After 3 days of intense work, 20 young people passionate about law and information technologies came up with four concepts for a mobile application to promote the rights of young people at the workplace. The first Rights@Work4Youth Hackathon in the Republic of Moldova was held during 1-3 November in Chisinau. The event was organized by National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM), with the support of the International Labor Organization (ILO), within the project "Promotion of youth employment".

The project, covering the 2019-2022 period, will contribute to fostering commitment for human rights-oriented reforms.

    More than 30,000 young people participated directly in the information and simulation activities of the electoral processes, organized by 7 non-governmental organizations during 2018. In Chisinau capital city, volunteers from the National Youth Center from Moldova were the ones who distributed information materials and discussed face to face with young people, covering also universities.
